Objectives
- To give HSU student officers real money to make stock market investments.
- To support real time stock analysis by using the latest financial ratios and ¡°present value / future value¡± analysis system.
- To improve the ability of independent analysis on stock market.
- To offer an opportunity of manipulating and participating with a high quality portfolio management team
Constraints
- The RWF portfolio invests mainly in the U.S. market at the early
state of the fund.
- Our principal and key success factor is portfolio diversification which aims to gain more than an average rate of return on our fund.
- The RWF will pay more attention to mid-sized and small-sized
companies and corporations, due of their increasing potential.
- Any stock calculated by our time value that is considered
equation undervalued will
be abandoned in class.
- RWF should maintain the fund for the long term. Short term
decisions will not be considered in our class.
- Decisions must be made by scientific calculation, financial analysis, and in class discussions.
Responsibilities
- Every stock in our class will be discussed, analyzed, and accessed in terms of portfolio value maximization.
- Every student will prepare a stock analysis presentation for class.
- After class voting, the Professor makes the purchases following the final results.
- The Professor will be in charge of the fund during semester breaks.
Voting
- All class students have the right to vote for keeping, buying, or selling any stock in RWF portfolio.
- The final decisions will follow the portfolio management team's voting results as long as the voting rate exceeds 50% of the class on each stock analysis process.
- Absent voting is not allowed in any circumstances in the RWF security class.
- The decisions are invalid when more than 50% of the students are not present in class.
The RWF¡¯s investment objective is mainly to focus on the development
of the student
officers¡¯ practical stock market analysis ability and experience.
During the analysis process, all class student officers and the
professor
will give some critical suggestions and ask questions to the
stock presenter. Voting by secret ballot will be held afterwards.
The latest stock market information and time value equation system will
be used in evaluating every stock of the RWF portfolio to determine
which stocks are undervalued or overvalued.
Every stock ratio will be discussed in class, such as average industry
index, market cap, P/E ratio, price/book ratio, beta, 52-week Change,
50 days moving average, current ratio, and etc.
All of the investment decisions should increase the rate of return for
the RWF
with a diversified stock investment portfolio.
